Rebecca Läwen is a bachelor’s student at the Institute for Computational Linguistics at University of Heidelberg, where she focuses on the application of AI to natural language tasks. Originally from Tübingen, she has been fascinated by languages and linguistics since childhood . Since June 2024, Rebecca has been supporting the team at berns language consulting as a working student. She focuses primarily on terminology management and machine translation. Her work aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of language-related processes.

One of the tasks of a terminologist is to answer the question for potential term candidates, more precisely: To decide for each candidate, if it’s possible terminology or just words. This task is tedious manual work that requires both linguistic and technical expertise – and a lot of time. blc tech team is developing an AI tool that supports precisely this task.
